Sorry its me not being clear, 4s fills before 3d so its at lower energy than 3d putting 3d just under 4p allowing 3d to shield 4p and not 4s
ahhh, yes I get it now. :) Thanks. I’m being dumb and going ‘shielding’ but not registering that it’s from the nucleus.

Well… seeing as they’re higher in energy than they’d be expected they aren’t as close to the nucleus and so don’t feel as much of the charge so don’t produce as much of a shielding effect…? perhaps
I get that, but 3d shielding 4p? that just makes no sense. I could get it shielding 4s…

We must have got really bored by the end of the semester because there are more and more drawings and nonsense notes, oh and a lot of BITCHY WITCHY written all over my work…. Might be why he is named ‘Bitchface Moo’ in my phone. Also the one who greeted me after christmas with ‘I don’t like your hair, it’s weird.’
